Apr 26

For centuries, the sales funnel has been an integral to traditional business and marketing. Recently, however, it seems that funnels are getting talked about everywhere on the internet.

Truth is, people are eager to know more about this strategy for marketing and the best way to implement it in their online marketing campaigns. If you would like to know something more about sales funnels for efficient Internet marketing I invite you to read on.

What is the Sales Funnel?

A marketing funnel isn't a funnel. For this marketing concept, the use of the term funnel is to visually and define the sales process from the beginning to its end. The term"funnel" can be utilized to define the sales process because it has both a more extensive entry point to "Unqualified Prospects" as well as a smaller opening for converts at the bottom.

At the top or entrance to the funnel will be who we may consider as "unqualified prospects" These are people who might require your products or services, but you have never contacted them before. By the end of this funnel, several offers and sales actions after, you've received people who've obtained your product or service and have made a purchase as well.

A lead generation funnel's effectiveness is due to its capability to monitor the activities of your customers throughout the sales process. Using the sales funnel through finding out the number of qualified prospects at each point of the process, it is possible to anticipate the number of potential customers that will eventually turn into actual customers.

A sales funnel allows you to determine exactly how is going on and how your sales strategy is not working or succeeding or failing, or if your marketing campaign isn't getting a sufficient amount of prospective customers somewhere in the process. This will allow you to choose exactly where you should focus your attention and work to keep sales at a required level, as well as, to achieve your marketing objectives. It is used to monitor and manage the sales process of clients.

The Front- End or Sales Funnel Top

The front of your sales funnel must be the most active part of your process. This requires constant testing. There is no limit of front-end ideas. Your imagination and resources are the only limitations.

The front-end's main objective will be to draw in prospective customers and turn these buyers into buyers down the sales funnel.

When a prospect decides to sign up or purchases the product or service you provide, they are "qualified". This is the stage of the sales funnel at which the potential client or "Unqualified prospect" becomes a qualified leads because they have taken actions that show that they are interested enough to purchase your product.

Your front-end must be able drive specific traffic to your website or blog. The most efficient methods and resources to accomplish this include article marketing, PPC adverts, social media (Google+, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube), banners, blogging, forum posting, content marketing and more.

There are a variety of ways to "qualify" one of them, the "Unqualified prospect". The most effective is the squeeze page. You can provide something of value that is connected to your product/service that people can obtain for free or at a drastically reduced price in exchange of their email. You can choose from reports and newsletters, as well as video and e-mail course.

We can see that the front-end is where people are attracted to your sales funnel. What about the back-end of your sales funnel?

The Bottom or Back-End of the Funnel

The back or bottom of your sales funnel is the place where most profits and sales are generated. It is where you will typically find more expensive products in this area. Basically these would be relevant to the same niche but delivered in different formats such as video, audio live interaction, or private consultation.

The primary difference between the front-end of the service and the back-end is the type or price of the customer.

It's true that only a small percent, say 1-2% of the total number of people entering into your front - end, will be in the back-end. This is because a select few people will spend a larger amount of funds.

It's clear that while front-end products or services are priced below $100, back-end products and/or services are often priced between the 100s and 1000s. This implies that the bottom of the sales channel which is also known as the back-end is the primary source of income.

As I mentioned earlier the sales funnel can be customizable as much as your creativity and resources permit.
